The 110 golden post boxes were set up and painted by the Royal Mail to honour our gold medallists of The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and have become a cherished part of many communities. They attracted so much attention by so many people that Royal Mail decided to keep them permanently golden and attach name plaques on them to honour each for our wonderful athletes including Get Kids Going! own: David Weir (4 times gold medallist), Micky Bushell, Danielle Brown, Josie Pearson and Aled Davis.

Gracious Gracie and her family are visiting each and every one of the post boxes to raise funds for Get Kids Going! So far Gracie has visited 55 golden post boxes. Many local businesses and pubs are supporting her admirable quest by donating teddy bears for a ‘guess the name of the bear’ competition to raise additional funds. Gracie’s funding is going just great as she has already raised £500 for Get Kids Going! If you would like to support Gracie’s efforts by making a donation to Get Kids Going! then just click the below link or go on to our home page where you can donate online. Gracie would be delighted to have your kind support. Thank you.
