Great Birmingham Run
The Great Birmingham Run was established in 2008 and soon became an important calendar day for Birmingham the home of the mighty Black Sabbath. It is very well supported by the local community who line the streets to roar on the participants with their encouraging chants which even the great Ozzy would be proud of.
The course runs through the heart of Birmingham, where you will run past some of the most famous sites of the city including the Bullring, Edgbaston Cricket Ground and Cadbury World it then parallels the River Rea for part of its 13.1 miles. It crosses Cannon Hill Park and Calthorpe Park before finishing at Aston University.
Get Kids Going!
Get Kids Going! is a national charity which gives disabled children and young people, up to the age of 26 years, the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. We provide them with specially built sports wheelchairs so they can do: athletics, marathons, tennis, skiing, rugby, sailing, basketball, snowboarding and many other sports.
Get Kids Going! inspires young people to compete in sporting events, from start to paralympic level, by also giving them annual sports grants to help with their; training, travel, competition fees and the development of sports’ equipment. With your help many of these amazing youngsters can become world record holders and paralympic champions!
