Charlotte Evans to miss out on Para-alpine World Championships

Kelly Gallagher

Paralympic champion’s Kelly Gallagher and Charlotte Evans have had to briefly part company so Kelly can ski in the World Championships.

Charlotte and Kelly collided during training in January with Charlotte coming out worse with concussion.

In order to compete in the World Championships Kelly will begin training with coach Ross Green later this week.

The rest of the Get Kids Going! alpine ski team which includes visually impaired skier Millie Knight and sit-skiers, Ben Sneesby and Benji Millard have been out in Canada since last week.

They have been training in Kimberley but moved over to Panorama on Friday.

Suzanne Knight, Millie’s mum told us, “Millie and Jen are training hard whilst Mick, Ben and Benji are doing the speed events.”

“It’s a beautiful place and the snow is not too bad either!” she added.

The IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships take held in Panorama, Canada run between 28th February and 10th March.
