Justin wins Padova Marathon

Get Kids Going! wheelchair athlete, Justin Levene has won the Padova marathon in Italy on Sunday.

Justin became a member of the Get Kids Going! wheelchair athlete last month and is incredibly thankful for the help the charity is giving him, “I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have the support of Get Kids Going! It makes such a difference, as an athlete, to have you on my side.”

He added, “Without Get Kids Going! I could never have got a new chair. My chair has been giving me problems and I would have no chance to of qualifying for the Rio Paralympics.”

Justin completed the Padova marathon in 1hour 43minutes making it a back to back win for him at the event. His time was very close to his personal best which surprised him, “My training has been going well but I am competing after getting an injury so I just went hoping to do my best.”

“I have a few chair issues but I am looking forward to competing at the London marathon this week. I have a few issues and there are many turns which are my weak point but I am just going to do my best.”

We are delighted to welcome Justin to our team and cannot wait to cheer him on in London.
