Get Kids Going! wheelchair athlete, Shelly Woods, visited her local business, SPS, on Wednesday to thank them for their kind support towards the charity.

Shelly has been supported by Get Kids Going! since the age of 12 and became one of their ambassadors after her silver medal at London 2012 Paralympics.

In 2014, SPS (EU) Limited, a manufacturing company based in Blackpool, launched the H2O Active range of sports bottles to bring bright and modern designs to the sports bottle market. As part of its launch they decided to donate 5p from the sale of every bottle to Get Kids going!

After a tour around the company, Shelly was kindly given a cheque for the charity for nearly £6,000. Get Kids Going! CEO Jane Emmerson said, “We are absolutely delighted to have received such wonderful support from everyone at SPS (EU) Ltd.  We cannot thank them enough for all they have done for the many disabled children here at Get Kids Going!”

CEO Phil Morgan (pictured with Shelly) said, “We are really proud to be a large manufacturer in Blackpool and even more pleased that the sales of our products can contribute to helping build up British talent.”

SPS chose Get Kids Going! after a couple of staff members ran the Virgin Money London Marathon for the charity a few years back. Christine Girven, the marketing director of SPS said, “I was looking for a sports-related charity, as it fit well with the product – and I found Get Kids Going particularly inspiring because of the way you guys are helping young people get into sport where there would previously be barriers and difficulties."

Thank you so much to SPS for their wonderful support over the last year.
